Travel and accommodation
From the airport to the venue
By taxi
- a regular taxi will charge you around 35-40euro for the trip all the way to the business center.
- airportdriver.at offers flat rates (31euros for economy) from the airport to any parts of the city. Must book in advance.
- RED|CAB (www.red-cab.at) is an Austrian Airlines service - a bit cheaper (29euros) but is harder to get. Must book at least 24h in advance.
By S-bahn
- the cheapest way to get to downtown (3.6euros)
- S-bahn line S7 departs from the airport at :18 and :48 past the hour. It takes about 25minutes to reach Wien Mitte-Landstrasse
- from Wien Mitte-Landstrasse take the underground (U-Bahn) line U4 all the way to its end at Heiligenstadt
- the business center is 50m away from the U-Bahn station
By City-Airport train (CAT)
- the fastest way to get to downtown (10euros)
- departs from the airport at :05 and :35 past the hour. It takes about 16 minutes to reach Wien Mitte-Landstrasse.
- from Wien Mitte-Landstrasse take the underground (U-Bahn) line U4 all the way to its end at Heiligenstadt
- the business center is 50m away from the U-Bahn station
within Vienna
Public transport in Vienna is exceptionally good. Given that you are going to be there for a week, a 1-week ticket on all lines comes strongly recommended. It costs 14euros and can be bought at ticket vending machines in all U-bahn stations (including Wien Mitte-Landstrasse where the S-bahn/CAT will take you)
Some important U-bahn stations:
- Heiligenstadt (U4) - where the meetings take place
- Wien Mitte-Landstrasse (U3, U4, CAT, S-bahn) - connection to the airport
- Karlsplatz/Oper (U1, U2, U4, many trams and buses) - probably the most important public transport node of the city. Extremely close to the old city and surrounded by many hotels covering all price ranges.
The Wiener Linien website (http://www.wienerlinien.at/wl/ep/home.do?tabId=0) allows you to plan your trip from any to any other point in the city, including the airport.
