Participants:
- CEFRIEL: Emanuele, Irene, Daniele B.
- Saltlux: Kono, Stanley
- Siemens: Yi
- WICI: Ning Zhong
- VUA: Annette
- HLRS: Axel
Agenda:
- presentation by Axel
- D6.6 fixing
- challenges for larkc
- more exploration within wp6
- studying the platform through D5.3.2
- what's next
Discussion minutes:
- Axel presentation: paper at ontology matching workshop about ontology matching using parallelization and distribution
- scenario: matching large scale ontology
- "single code multiple data" approach
- "multiple code single data" approach
- "multiple code multiple data" approach
- motivating example: urban computing
- TASK: Emanuele to prepare a small dataset on street maps to HLRS for experimentation
- D6.6 fixing
- Irene: Barry's comments and things to fix
- Kono: terminology problems with types of tests, ToC (there are 2 of them!),
- TASK: everybody to make smaller corrections on their parts of D6.6 by Monday 28th
- TASK: Irene to correct/rephrase all the introductory parts of D6.6 by Monday 28th
- TASK: finalizing the deliverable by Tuesday 29th to send it to Frank (since we have to deliver it to the Commission by Wednesday 30th)
- challenges for LarKC:
- elimination of duplicates in event description:
- events info are provided in a "wiki" approach so it's possible to have duplicates
- rule-based approaches to eliminate duplicates? (e.g. same place same time and similar description means same event)
- machine learning trained on manually-detected duplicates?
- disambiguation of geographical names:
- machine learning challenge for traffic prediction?
- TASK: Irene to set up a page with the current list of challenges and everybody to contribute
- elimination of duplicates in event description:
- next activities and idea for WP6
possibility: exploring OpenStreetMap and LinkedGeoData in order to understand if it is feasible to operate a porting from our current street data models and the data model they use
- Saltlux is in contact with Korean public bodies that maybe could grant Saltlux access for research purposes
- WICI would like to organize and put up something about Urban Computing to show in China, maybe for LarKC meeting in Bejing?
TASK: WICI and Saltlux to explore if ?OpenStreetMap and DBpedia and Eventful (or other event database) contain useful information about Chinese cities and Korean cities
TASK: Saltlux to explore the differences between our current data model and LinkedGeoData model (having a look at this paper)
- possibility: querying directly LSDR instead of invoking Sindice and DBpedia
- TASK: Cefriel to explore substituting Sindice+DBpedia in current urban workflow to overcome current problems with not-retrieved information
- possibility (long term vision): using Glue streaming data and also its social network for people in Milano or interested in Milano, to combine physical and virtual worlds
- TASK: Siemens and Cefriel to further explore this chance (and keep others in the loop if they are interested)
- studying the platform and the plugins
- we got great results in the first project period, but we did not leverage on larkc plugins other than the ones we developed ourselves... we should make sure that we are using the best possible results from the rest of the project
- TASK: everybody to "study" D5.3.2 and collect questions for clarification (if needed)
- TASK: everybody to have a look at plugins to understand what is possible and, in case, propose new challenges for them
Next phone call/meeting:
- next phone call: November 4th at 10.00 CET
- agenda for the phone call:
- report on platform studying
- report on traffic data
- report on portability of street, monuments and event data
