To Lyon
*There are direct flights to Lyon airport from most major European cities.
*The alternative is to come by train to one of two train stations, 'Part Dieu' or 'Perrache' (see map below).
Airport shuttle
To go to the city center take the tramway 'Rhône Express' at the airport and get off at 'Vaulx en Velin' 'La Soie'. Bus and metro
http://www.tcl.fr/index.asp http://www.tcl.fr/documents/pdf/metro_tram.pdf Tickets (which can be used for metro, city bus and tram) cost 1.60 Euro each, or 13.70 Euro for 10 tickets, and can be bought from machines at the entrance of each metro/tram station or from the bus driver. They should be punched before boarding and are valid one hour.
Taxi
Taxi from the airport to IARC takes approximately 45 minutes and should be less than 60 euros during daytime.

Venue
The meeting will take place at IARC near the 'Grange Blanche' metro station. Take the metro from 'Bellecour' straight to 'Grange Blanche' and walk back one block along 'cours Albert Thomas' to the tall concrete-glass tower. You will have to give your ID at the front desk to get a visitors' card. The plenary meeting will take place in the 'Princess Takamatsu' conference room just by the front desk.

Accommodation
There are many affordable hotels downtown Lyon. It is recommended to stay somewhere on the Presqu'île, between the 'Perrache' and 'Hotel de Ville' metro stations. From there you can walk to 'Bellecour' and take the Metro straight to 'Grange Blanche' (15-20 mins) which is one block from IARC.

Parallelisation Workshop, Monday 31-Jan-11, 9:30 - 17:00
Prior to the main meeting, there is a 1-day workshop planned on applying the main-stream parallelization strategies (Multithreading, MPI, and ?MapReduce) for improvement of plug-in performance. The workshop aims at all plug-in developers and will demonstrate techniques for creation of parallelization-aware plug-ins as well as steps for adaptation of the existing ones. The platform features related to the support of parallel plug-in implementations will be covered by the workshop programm as well. The workshop will be organized by HLRS on behalf of WP5.
