How to join a WP1 Phone Conference
In principle, there are three possible technical infrastructure that are used for WP1 phone conference.
Which one is used is announced at the start page of WP1 next to the date.
(1) Phone Conferences based on dmtsConference Phone Conference Service
To join the phone conference please dial: +49 1805 600610
Afterwards simply follow the instructions of the conference guide. The 6-digit conference code / PIN that we will use for our conference is 123321.
I tested the provider and validated that one can use as well Skype (i.e. ?SkypeOut) to dial into a phone conference without any problems. This might be interesting for those that are more comfortable with sitting in front of a computer for the phone conference.
(2) Phone Conferences based on Powwownow
Offers more international dial-in numbers than option (1) and supports ?SkypeOut as well.
Pick the most suitable number depending on your location from ?http://www.powwownow.es/p/5/en. After dialing in using this number please use the PIN 091801 to join the correct conference.
(3) Phone Conferences based on Skype
The skype id of Gulay Unel is novirain. Please let me know about your skype id before the phone conference starts (if you have not done so already).
To have an ordered phone conference, I suggest the following protocol
- Start your skype before the phone call in order to be able to call you
- If possible use external microphone and headphones in order to minimize the echo and the unpleasant noises
- Use the mute button if you don't talk to minimize the noises over the wire
